Demonstration β€” synthetic data

One national height system
for the United Arab Emirates

A single portal for the unified UAE National Vertical Datum (UAE-NVD): convert legacy Emirate heights, relate port Chart Datums to the new national LAT surface, transform coordinates in UAE_GRF2024, and browse the national benchmark and tide-gauge network.

Delivered by three partners

The Unification of the UAE Vertical Datum is proposed by a consortium combining local delivery capability with international geodetic expertise.

Why a unified vertical datum

Each Emirate historically maintained its own levelling datum β€” Abu Dhabi's Ras Ghumais MSL datum, Dubai's Port Rashid LAT-based system, and independent local networks elsewhere. The UAE-NVD replaces them with one national surface at epoch 2024.0, anchored to mean sea level at the national tide gauges and connected to UAE_GRF2024 through a gravimetric geoid model. This portal shows how legacy heights, chart datums and modern GNSS heights all meet in that single system.
